Struggling with sleep as the nights draw in? 😴 It’s normal to feel a bit out of sync this time of year. As soon as it gets darker outside, your body starts releasing melatonin, the hormone that makes you sleepy. So when the sun goes down at 6pm instead of 8pm, your brain thinks it’s bedtime two hours earlier than usual.

There are things you can do to help though! Small tweaks like getting outside in the morning or reading before bed instead of scrolling your phone can make a real difference.

You might also find it helpful to establish a bedtime routine that signals to your body it’s time to wind down. For example, consider taking a *warm bath* in the evening to relax your muscles and calm your mind, or enjoying a *warm, caffeine-free drink* such as herbal tea before bed. Some people also find that a gentle *pillow scent* with lavender or chamomile can create a soothing atmosphere and make drifting off a little easier. Remember, you don’t need to change everything to get a better night’s sleep this autumn—sometimes, a few small adjustments can add up to a big improvement.

The clocks are going back tomorrow = Hygge!
Heres some ‘hygge’ ideas to get you feeling cosy:
• Light all your candles and dim your lights - the softer glow and flickering flames makes for a more cosy atmosphere.
• Do some baking or drink some mulled wine or hot chocolate
• Decorate with natural materials - wood, cones, leaves, dried flowers
• Read a book (ideally in a cosy place with a blanket)

I add affirmation cards into all my boxes because affirmations really work for me.
This morning reading my book (On My Own Side by Dr Aziz Gazipura) on the tube I learnt that for some people, affirmations don’t really resonate as much because they can’t believe what they are telling them self. If that’s you, you should shift the affirmation to a statement of gratitude.
Eg change ‘I am creative’ to ‘I am grateful for my creativity’
And see if that works better for you! 👀 ✨ 💖
