Short but focused yoga is the best way to get you out of bed and full of energy in the morning. Perfect for beginners, try this 3 minute practise.
Step 1: Stand with your spine vertically aligned, your feet hip length apart and your arms by your side. Push your feet into the ground.
Step 2: Imagine you are a mountain rising up from the ocean. Your feet are in the water and your head is the summit.
Step 3: Stretch your arms up as high as they will go and spread your fingers apart. Take a deep breathe in through your nose. Hold this position: solid and still as a mountain.
Step 4: Be aware of any thoughts or worries you have. Imagine them as little waves in the ocean, splashing by your feet.
Step 5: Breathe in and out to blow the waves further and further out to sea. Watch the ocean become calmer and calmer.
Step 6: Relax your body and lower your arms. You are ready to start your day!
